Ashley Larkin is exploring history, mindfulness, and familial narratives through the medium of quilting, emerging as a new voice in Nashville’s contemporary art world. Formerly working in New York City as a fashion designer, Larkin's return to the creative landscape after a decade-long tenure as a psychotherapist adds a profound dimension to her artistic practice.

Larkin's tapestries, crafted and imbued with symbolic depth, serve as intricate narratives that blur the boundaries between personal storytelling and collective memory. Her artistic journey, informed by her therapeutic insights, invites viewers into a contemplative space where threads of history and human experience intertwine.

In each quilt, Larkin weaves a narrative tapestry that challenges viewers to reconsider notions of time, resilience, and interconnectedness. Her work resonates with a diverse audience, offering a nuanced perspective on the power of art as a catalyst for healing and introspection.

As Larkin continues to push the boundaries of her practice, her art stands as an invitation to explore identity, as a Black woman, a mother, a daughter and a human, while also navigating the complexities of the past and the present.
